Language conveys things, like meanings or nonsense.
So some ones regard language like a tool, it can be tool when it can be applied. But language is language, not a tool so simply, otherwise you only can say some daily language like expression for hunger or anger, not so colorful in conversation of your life. However, when we talk about mechanics, language is so poor and not so efficient like charts or illustrations, not so plain and direct meaning. Body language is a kind of silent language, a signal flag (or Flag Signal) is another. They are all silent. So pls do not regard them as simply tools. They can be vital in your life or working. But one can not be a master of all kinds of languages. It can be impossible, uneconomical and irrational if you are trying to master all of them. Everthing concerning human, there should be a balance. You need to know specified languages as much as you can, feel free and efficient to use them. That's my point.
If you do not catch it, I would like to say, language is not so simple as you think. If you insist that Language is a tool, it must be a state of art tooling machine on top of the World. |
