" T& y& b0 y; SPrimary Responsibilities:

[7 W9 A# G2 r/ GPosition requires a senior mechanical design engineer who is experienced in the design and packaging of ruggedized embedded computer systems for military and aerospace applications. The candidate will be responsible for the design, documentation and production support of electro-mechanical components and systems per specific customer requirements. Within Aitech’s small company environment, the senior mechanical engineer’s role is a combination of leadership, mentoring, and hands on performance of the mechanical engineering tasks. 3D solid modeling techniques using Autodesk Inventor? and proficiency using AutoCAD? is required. Knowledge of material properties and finishes applicable to the design of electronic packaging components is a must.

8 m: q {, B7 {Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M-1994 practices 7 d! Y- G8 g& `1 o9 x8 t
Working knowledge of the creation and control of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) per DOD-D-1000 and MIL-STD-100
/ d5 e1 N8 m: \9 ^8 rWorking knowledge of military, ANSI/ASME and IPC specifications
9 ^& y! a! ?; |/ u( G. IDirect experience in the design, analysis, and qualification testing of electronic packaging in avionics applications - _ e* d* I& {: @
Direct experience in the specification and control of Printed Wiring Board artwork process and fabrication required
1 T. p4 q, p& ~9 qPrepare and present customer presentations, and participate in face to face customer discussions and negotiations regarding complex technologies , Y; o* v4 M: ^# z, I- D
Develop technical solutions derived from technology building blocks ' r& [1 u' F( q: \) R% ^8 F
Lead special Research & Development project activities or investigations within the Mechanical Engineering discipline. 3 ^" N& Q. E! B
Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management procedures
& h. ]! x2 B" ^8 K" v& DWorking knowledge of sheet metal and machine shop practices is a plus 2 J) F& ]( ^9 p6 S9 |
Manage technical sub-contracts
% [+ a* s* Z' PStrong communication skills

Use project scheduling tools to estimate the total cost of a development program
. ~, h5 @- [9 H: yCoordinate activities of engineers within the Engineering Department and/or across Aitech programs and projects

Minimum10 years experience with military programs

BS ME (and/or equivalent experience) with MS desired
